About Us
A little about who you will be working with, and the thinking behind the care we offer your family.

Elena Sansoni
Elena has worked with children, young people and families for almost two decades. She began her career as a primary school teacher before moving into therapeutic and clinical roles, including work as a Child Behavioural Therapist in private practice and as a Behaviour Analyst, Therapist and Counsellor within the Department of Education.
Her clinical interests include anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, attachment and the ways in which a child’s experiences can shape their developing brain, nervous system, relationships and behaviour. She is particularly interested in helping families look beneath the surface of behaviour to better understand what a child may be communicating, struggling with or needing.
Elena’s approach is grounded in the belief that children heal and grow within relationships. Parents and caregivers are not separate from the therapeutic process — they are often central to creating the safety, connection, consistency and support that children need to thrive. She works collaboratively with families to strengthen understanding, support the parent-child relationship and help parents respond to their child with greater confidence, compassion and clarity.
She also believes that children have an inherent capacity for growth, healing and self-understanding. Rather than seeing therapy as something that is done to a child, Elena sees the therapist’s role as creating the conditions in which a child can access and build on the strengths, resources and potential already within them. Through safety, acceptance, attunement and the right level of support, children can begin to make sense of their experiences, express what has been difficult, and move towards greater confidence, resilience and self-trust.
Her work is trauma-informed, attachment-focused and developmentally responsive. She believes that children are best supported when they feel safe, understood and connected, and when therapy recognises both the individual child and the important relationships and environments around them.
As a mother herself, Elena also brings a personal appreciation of the complexity, vulnerability and growth that can come with parenting and family life.
At the heart of Elena’s work is a simple philosophy: children do not grow in isolation. Meaningful and lasting change is supported when children, parents and families are helped to understand one another, repair when things become difficult, and build stronger ways of coping and connecting together.
